About Joseph W. Brady

As the longest serving commercial broker in the High Desert and northern San Bernardino County, Joseph W. Brady has single-handedly made a significan contribution to the economic growth that the area has seen over the past two decades. With The Bradco Companies as the top-selling agency from 200 till 2006 and also in 2011, in the last 36 months, the company recently has done 1,452,367 square feet in leasing, negotiating, and sales of buildings.

The Bradco Companies have closed more commercial transactions in its history than any other single commercial brokerage firm in the High Desert region or more than the top 3 current competitors in the region.

A 1979 graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Joe earned a B.S. Degree in Business Administration and a duel concentration in Human Resource Management and Real Estate.  Joseph W. Brady CCIM, SIOR, is the President of Joseph W. Brady, Inc., dba The Bradco Companies located in Victorville, California, and has been providing companies from all over the world opportunities for growth right here in the High Desert since 1989.

The Bradco Companies specialize in the acquisition and disposition of raw land and approved residential, commercial and industrial land projects for developers and investors throughout the country. In 2011, Brady orchestrated the largest square-footage lease ever negotiated in the High Desert with furniture manufacturing giant, United Furniture Industries, (505,192 square feet) a move that is expected to create 250 jobs.

In addition, the company specializes in the leasing and sales of commercial, industrial and office properties, continually maintaining a large inventory of available land and space.  In 2005 The Bradco Companies was named the 13th largest commercial brokerage company in the Inland Empire by “The Business Press,” and the largest firm of its size in the High Desert. The firm was the No. 1 ranked commercial brokerage firm in the High Desert Region from 2001 to 2006.  In 2005 with nearly 4,000 Victor Valley Multiple Listing Service members, Joe was ranked No. 1 in the Region.

Since 1989, as a Broker, Joe has been responsible for more than 3,800 transactions, totaling more than $775 million in gross sales and over $31.5 million in commission income. 

From June of 1979 through April of 1983, Joe was employed by two of the largest real estate syndication, development, and management firms in Santa Barbara, California.  The two firms collectively owned $300 million in income producing assets including over 3,000 apartment units, (7)-self storage facilities, and a variety of commercial retail and office properties.  

Before forming The Bradco Companies and moving to Victorville in 1988, Joe was Vice President of Pegasus Development in Santa Barbara, California, a central coast subdivision developer.  From 1985 – 1987 Joseph served as vice president of the Santa Barbara County Chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California, Inc.

He is the former Secretary/Treasurer and a two-time Vice-President of membership for the Baldy View Chapter of the Building Industry Association of Southern California, Inc., where he sponsored nearly 90 members. He’s been a member of the Victor Valley Association of Realtors since 1989. He is the former President of the Mojave Regional Economic Development Council, a non-profit, tax exempt organization, whose purpose was to bring jobs and industrial growth to the Victor Valley and was part of the group that became the “High Desert Regional Economic Development Authority” (HDREDA)

Joseph is the publisher and co-editor of The Bradco High Desert Report, a quarterly economic overview of the High Desert market that has continued to grow as a trusted cornerstone of knowledge in the industry. Brady recently completed the 50th edition and has printed more than 325,000 copies and distributed them worldwide. Brady has also regularly contributed to the 15,000-circulation “Land Investment News” (1996 till 2007) and several other widely respected real estate publications.

On June 2, 2000, Joseph W. Brady, CCIM, SIOR and Deborah K. Brady became the owners of Coldwell Banker Golden West Real Estate, an eighteen (18) year old franchise in Barstow, California.  Coldwell Banker Golden West Real Estate has been the No. 1 real estate office in Barstow from 2000 to till closing in 2010, according to the former Barstow Board of Realtors Multiple Listing Service. In February of 2011, Coldwell Banker Golden West Real Estate became Barstow Real Estate Group, and it's still the longest standing real estate operation in the Barstow region's history (Golden West Real Estate, Coldwell Banker Golden West Real Estate, Barstow Real Estate Group). 

On April 26, 2000, Mr. Brady was recognized as one of the top ten (10) business people of the year in San Bernardino County by the San Bernardino County Sun newspaper.

Joseph’s commitment to his community goes beyond creating economic growth — from 1997 until 2003 he served on the Planning Committee for St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. In November of 2013, Joseph was appointed to the Victor Valley Global Medical Center Advisory Board.

In 2011 earned a seat on the Board of Trustees for the Victor Valley Community College District. He set a record for most votes (45,987 total votes) ever in Victor Valley Community College District's history and was elected on November 6, 2012. His term expires December 2016.

The High Desert Chapter of the American Red Cross has recognized Mr. Brady as the “Volunteer of the Year.”  He has been the Chairman and Co-Chairman for the agencies Economic Summit since its inception in 1998, an event through which he and his team of volunteer committee members have raised more than $375,000 over the last 12 years. The Victorville Rotary Club has awarded Joe with the coveted “Paul Harris Award” for Distinguished Community Service.

In 2004, Dr. Herbert R. Fischer, former San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools, also appointed Joseph W. Brady to serve on the executive board of the “Partnership in Excellence” for the Alliance for Education.  The foundation is built on the support of small and large businesses, labor, grants and foundations.  He served until late 2011.

In August 2012, Joseph was appointed to the Board of Governors for spring Valley Country Club, a private country club owned by Club Corp (Dallas, TX). Club Corp is the largest owner of privately owned country clubs in the world. He served on the board of Governors till March 2014.

He was appointed on August 10, 2010, to the San Bernardino County Tax Appeals Board. In September 2012 and 2013, he was one of 60 finalists interviewed for the "Spirit of the Entrepreneur" award given through Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneur (IECE), California State San Bernardino.

Joseph in conjunction with Malcom Riley of Malcolm Riley and Associates recently received the approvals in December 2013 for a Specific Plan titled "The Shoppers at Spanish Trails," and 801,000 square foot mixed-use project in Barstow that he and Mr. Malcolm Riley hope to develop starting in 2017. The property is bounded by Interstate 15 and Avenue L, adjacent to the existing Home Depot.

In 2015, he was nominated to become the Chairman on Victor Valley Global Medical Center Physicians and Community Advisory Board and serves with his Vice Chairman, Dr. Manmohan Nayyar, Chairman of Choice Medical Group and one of the original owners of Victor Valley Hospital.

In November 2015, Joseph accepted the High Desert Association of Realtors, Realtor of the Year award as the fir commercial broker in the HDAOR history (since 1948) to be acknowledged.

On a personal note, he has a deep love for golf and began the game when he was 12 years old. He caddied at Wilshire Country Club and has the distinct opportunity to caddy for Don Padgett Sr. at the 1971 Los Angeles Open held at Rivera Country Club during the first week of January 1971. He has caddied for other notables such as, Bob Rosburg, a former PGA Championship winner, Del Webb (the namesake for Del Webb communities) and many others.

He represented Spring Valley Lake Country Club on his national scramble team in the 1989 and 1990 Club Corp. National Scramble Championship held at Pinehurst, North Carolina, course No. 2 which is the site or multiple U.S. Open venues. He has played nearly 43 of the top 100 golf courses in the world and hopes to complete his list of top 100 before 2035.

He is married to Deborah K. Brady who is also the Executive Vice President of Barstow Real Estate Group and Alliance Management Group in Barstow.  They have resided in Spring Valley Lake for nearly 24 years.  He enjoys traveling, wine tasting, a challenging Top 100 golf course, and cutting his next deal!
